Because my parents are AWESOME, they got me a bunch of old maps for Christmas. So now I have a wall papered in maps.  To say that I am pleased is a huge understatement.

Wheeee lanterns.

Moroccan lanterns with the roomies.

I bought some white plates and drew on them with sharpies.  Bake them at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and they’re machine washable. :D

I made a necklace/bracelet. :D

Pendant and charm are burnt driftwood.  Not much experience with jewelry making but I’m pleased.

I might try to sell the necklace…cheap price since I’m new at this. ;)

Picked some flowers in the garden today and found this cute way to decorate with them! What do you think?

It’s done! Here it is hung up. Added to the design a bit.

THAT WAS FUN.

Far from what I pictured but a good start nonetheless. Now I have an idea on how to work with the wax I’ll be trying other things out and working on making it look better.  Complementary colors are tough cause they just want to run together and make brown. >(

And I got burned a lot by hot wax.  Careful now.

If you came into my room right now it would look like a mad scientists lair.

I know the melted crayon art has been beaten to death but I want some new wall art. ;)

Right now just messing around with it.  Have a design in mind so we’ll see!

When my mother doesn't know what to think of me.

  • Me: Mom are all our old crayons downstairs?
  • Mom: Well yeah...the kids don't have crayons at their house?
  • Me: ...What?
  • Mom: The kids. You babysit.
  • Me: Oh right. No they have crayons.
  • Mom: ....Then why do you need them?
  • Me: For me. To melt. With a hairdryer.
  • She stopped asking questions at that point.
